Everybody experiences suffering. No matter what you believe about the world, you have to be able to account for that fact. Maybe you are an atheist and believe that there is no meaning in suffering - things happen and whether they are good or bad is a matter of opinion. But most people live as though there are absolute rights and wrongs and therefore need to give a reason for why bad things happen to good people. Listen to Brian explain just how Christianity uniquely explains the seeming injustice of bad things happening to good people.

One of the most important aspects of any worldview is how it teaches you to view and interact with other humans. Does your worldview account for reality? Join Brian Johnston as he compares Christianity to other worldviews and lays out how it is uniquely suited to explain the high value that we all instinctively put on human life.

Every current and past religion except Christianity teaches that you can be saved by doing or saying certain things. If those religions were true, what a terrible situation they would put us in! For many years atheist have been trying to convince the world that in order to be a Christian you have to be willing to check your brain at the door because no rational person could seriously believe in the truth claims that it makes. If the claims of these atheists are true then there is no meaning in the universe. This idea runs contrary to the intuition of every single one of us. We all feel as though there must be some greater meaning in our lives. Listen in as Brian explains why our lives DO have a meaning and that meaning can only be understood in light of the Christian worldview.

Where did we come from? Where did the cosmos come from? Has it always been there or did it have a beginning? Why does it seem like the world was designed to meet our every need? These are questions that man has asked for millennia - ever since we first looked up at the night sky and were amazed at its beauty. The questions might be ancient, but can we know the answers today? Join Brian Johnston as he endeavours to bring some clarity to the discussion on our origins.

In part two of our series on ideas that have changed the world we are looking at the idea that God once lived among us. Jesus is the only religious leader in history that claimed to be deity. Some prominent skeptics have claimed that there is enough evidence to say that Jesus was not a real historical person, let alone that He was God incarnate. To make that kind of statement is to ignore the mountains of evidence to the contrary. When evaluating the idea of whether Jesus is God or not you must first cut out your presuppositions and come to the question ready to openly and honestly weigh the evidence. Join Brian as he examines the question of whether or not Jesus truly existed and if so, whether He was who He claimed to be.

Today marks the beginning of a new seven part series with our Bible teacher Brian Johnston called "Seven Ideas That Changed The World". These are ideas that it might be easy to dismiss today without actually considering them too closely, but if you seriously consider them you will find them just as revolutionary and life changing as they were when they were first introduced. 

Our first installment is on the idea that death is not the end. Our lives are not merely fleeting, transitory snapshots in the history of the cosmos, but are actually eternal in nature. Join us as Brian works out the logical consequences of the this idea.

We come to the end of our nine part series on Christian Faithfulness this week. Have you been following along with us? While each episode makes good sense on its own, I strongly encourage you to go back and listen to the whole series if you haven't already. Doing so will give you a much better sense of what it means to remain faithful to the teachings and work of the Lord Jesus in your life. Our Bible teacher Brian Johnston concludes this series with an episode entitled "Love For The World".  The apostle Paul gives us a glimpse into what it means to live a life of Christian faithfulness when he tells us that Demas had fallen away because of his love for the world. This is the eighth episode in our series on Christian Faithfulness. Brian has called this episode "The Bleating Of Sheep". Today we examine the danger in adding our own ideas, habits and traditions to God's commands for the Christian life both individually and corporately in a church setting. Brian explains that our adherence to the commands of God concerning our service must only come from a place of love. Gideon's Ephod: Gideon was a very humble man who God powerfully used to vanquish the enemies of the Jews. He turned down the offer of being made Israel's king, but instead he requested a golden ephod. What was the big deal about Gideon getting his own ephod similar to the ones worn by the high priest at Shiloh? The answer to that question and how this Bible story applies to our own faithfulness to the Christian faith can be fund in this week's podcast.

Episode 4 - A Different Kind of Fire: in a world of law and ritual, two men stand alone. They are the sons of Aaron, priests to the God of their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They bring sacrifices to appease their God. There are specific instructions for making their offerings, but surely what kind of fire they use makes no difference, right? Bible teacher Brian Johnston looks at the nature of the fire these priests brought before God and what significance it has to us in our Christian walk today.

In part three of our series on Christian Faithfulness Brian Johnston looks at our responsibility to hold firm to the truth that you know from scripture. Some may think that there might be clemency in the eyes of God for those who have been led astray by bad teaching.
